Armored command Car (armored command vehicle), equipped with a variety of radio stations and observation instruments, is used for light armored vehicles commanded by troop operation. There are two types of crawler and wheeled.

Introduction to reconnaissance vehicle
Armored reconnaissance vehicle is an armored combat vehicle equipped with reconnaissance equipment, which is mainly used for tactical reconnaissance and has high mobility, certain fire force and protection capability. Armored reconnaissance vehicles are divided into two types: wheeled and crawler. Sometimes the reconnaissance vehicle with large diameter artillery is called combat reconnaissance vehicle, while the general is called armored reconnaissance vehicle. Armored Command car is a light armored vehicle with command module, a variety of radio stations and observation instruments, and is used for troop Operation Command. It is divided into two types: wheeled and crawler. Most armored command cars are modified from light armored vehicles, while command tanks modified from tanks do not belong to this category.

Development
In traditional wars, the task of establishing contact with the enemy and collecting enemy strength and operational intelligence is usually completed by cavalry troops. With the appearance of mechanical vehicles and the improvement of the mechanization degree of troops, this task falls on armored vehicles, which is extremely beneficial due to the battlefield of high speed machine movement and tactical transient.
In the 1930 s, a few countries used light tanks or armored vehicles for battlefield reconnaissance. During World War II, many countries widely adopted wheeled armored reconnaissance vehicles to carry out ground combat reconnaissance missions. Since the 1950 s, all countries have attached great importance to the development of armored vehicles. In 1958, the Soviet Union began to equip the wheel reconnaissance vehicle type-1, gradually replacing the amphibious tank type-76. In the early 1960 s, the Soviet Union also improved the type-1 to the type-2 wheeled reconnaissance vehicle equipment force. During the same period, France was equipped with EBR75 (8 × 8) wheeled reconnaissance vehicle; The United States was equipped with M114 crawler-type reconnaissance vehicle; The British equipment Freet MK2/3 wheeled reconnaissance vehicle. In the 1970 s, countries paid more attention to the development of armored reconnaissance vehicles, improved mobility, enhanced protection capability, strengthened fire power, and adopted advanced photoelectric technology to improve reconnaissance and observation capabilities, and began to pay attention to the development of their own car family series.
From the late 1970 s to the 1980 s, all major weapon producing countries in the world, especially France, Britain and the United States, began to independently develop armored reconnaissance vehicles and adopted advanced reconnaissance technologies, make the vehicle have good observation ability and advanced communication means.
Looking at the development of armored reconnaissance vehicles, there are the following three different development modes. The first is to improve on the basis of the existing armored vehicles at that time. For example, the Soviet Union's Duan Ruan-1 reconnaissance vehicle was improved on the basis of the Duan Ruan-40 Type armored vehicle to strengthen fire, after increasing the power, the 2-type wheeled reconnaissance vehicle was formed. The second is to independently develop armored reconnaissance vehicles, such as Tigercat 2 wheeled reconnaissance vehicle in federal Germany and VBC90 wheeled reconnaissance vehicle in France. Some developed into complete armored vehicle families on the basis of armored reconnaissance vehicles. The third is to develop armored reconnaissance vehicles while developing armored personnel transport vehicle or infantry tank. For example, the United States has developed M3 crawler armored reconnaissance vehicles while developing M2 crawler infantry tank.
Armored Command car is also developed with the improvement of troop mechanization. Command car is usually improved from light armored vehicles, focusing on communication capabilities. However, Japan's 82-type communication command car uses a specially developed chassis.
During the First World War, Britain and France dismantled tanks, artillery and installed radio equipment, and converted them into command tanks for battlefield use. During the Second World War, in order to meet the needs of tanks and mechanized infantry, Britain, the United States, Germany, France and other countries used crawler, semi-crawler and wheeled armored vehicles to be converted into command cars, there are few varieties of communication equipment installed on the car, and the performance is poor. Generally, weapons are not installed. After World War II, with the rapid development of photoelectric technology, the communication ability of armored command car has been greatly developed, which can better meet the needs of commanders to conduct uninterrupted command in maneuver warfare.
China began to develop armored command car in 1980. By 1988, six models had been developed, namely WZ701 in 1980, WZ701C in 1983, YW701A in 1984, YW701B, WZ701D in 1986 and YW703 in 1988 are crawler-type and modified by corresponding armored personnel transport vehicle.
